In its latest charity fundraising event, Skipton Business Finance's Birmingham office staff will join hundreds of others and sleep rough for a night in the centre of Birmingham..
The Big Sleepout, which takes place on the 2nd December 2011, aims to raise awareness of homelessness. The event is arranged at the coldest time of the year to make people particularly aware of those without even the most basic of human needs - shelter.
There will be various gatherings across the city where participants will camp and spend between the hours of 6pm and 6am shivering on the street!
All monies raised will go to the Midlands-based St Basils charity.
St Basils charity work across Birmingham, Solihull and North Worcestershire to try and prevent youth homelessness by providing a range of support services and supported accommodation. They work with young people aged 16 – 25, including young mothers and fathers, so children and babies are also supported by the charity.
