Supporting Access to Clean Water Through Our Partnership with AquAid

At Skipton Business Finance, we believe that even small decisions can make a meaningful difference.

As part of our commitment to creating a positive and supportive working environment for our colleagues, we recently invested in water coolers from AquAid.

While our colleagues benefit from easy access to chilled drinking water, the real impact of this partnership extends far beyond our office walls.

Through AquAid's unique charitable initiative, every water cooler supplied helps fund life-changing clean water projects across Africa via The Africa Trust.

As a result of our partnership, an Elephant Pump is currently being installed on behalf of Skipton Business Finance. These pumps provide communities with reliable access to clean, safe drinking water, often transforming daily life for local families who would otherwise need to travel long distances to collect water.

The Elephant Pump is a modern adaptation of a traditional rope-and-pulley system. Designed to be durable, sustainable and easy to maintain, it provides a dependable source of fresh water for villages across rural Africa.

We are proud that our organisation's name will be displayed on the pump and look forward to sharing photographs and updates from the community it will support in the coming months.

AquAid and The Africa Trust have already made a significant impact, helping to fund the installation of more than 10,000 Elephant Pumps across countries including Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Together, these projects have provided access to clean water for countless communities and have been supported by more than £22 million in charitable donations.

We're delighted that something as simple as providing fresh drinking water for our colleagues can also help improve access to clean water for communities thousands of miles away.
