Managing Director Greg Bell completes 2017 London Marathon

A big congratulations to our very own Managing Director Greg Bell who completed this Sunday's London Marathon.

Greg's chosen charity is Children With Cancer and his efforts have raised £4,000 so far.

Reflecting on his overall marathon journey, which started in the Summer of 2016, Greg said: "The journey had been long and started with a bottle of red wine last summer and ended with a pledge to take up running in August 2016.

"Having trained for over 8 months and sustaining a torn calf muscle 6 weeks before the London Marathon itself whilst running a 20 mile road race in Hull I have, on medical advice, been unable to run since."

He added: "But it’s the support and encouragement I had received via the various messages and sponsorship that left me with little option but to go for it, and I'm glad I did."

Almost 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK and Children With Cancer's aim are to determine the causes, find cures and provide care for children with cancer.

Speaking about his sponsorship, Greg said: "Sadly cancer is still the most common medical cause of death beyond infancy in children and young people in the UK so to raise £4,000 (and counting) is a fantastic achievement and I'm both overwhelmed and thankful to all who has sponsored me."
