Invoice Finance now even more popular amongst SMEs and larger companies, reports ABFA

ABFA, the Asset Based Finance Association, today announced impressive growth figures for its members as invoice finance yet again saw a big rise in popularity.

Advances from ABFA members to clients grew by 12% year-on-year, with £15.7 billion being distributed.

There have now been 5 quarters of continued growth in the amount of advances issued as more and more businesses opt for invoice finance solutions such as invoice factoring and invoice discounting.

Recruiters confident about gradual recovery of labour market, reports REC

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) released a statement today indicating that, in its opinion, there were more positive signs emerging of the UK labour market’s recovery from the recession.

The REC’s Office Professionals sector held its second meeting of the year recently, bringing together a wide variety of different recruitment agencies, where the state of the labour market was discussed. Other items on the agenda included new regulations that were to affect recruitment agencies including the Agency Workers Regulations.

Recruitment agencies still seeing demand for staff

Despite the poor economic conditions, the job market is still seeing a rise in demand for staff, as recruitment agencies see the benefits, according to the latest Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) report.

Demand for permanent staff improved at its best level for 18 months, whilst places for temporary staff saw an increase not seen since February.

Sectors with the highest demand for workers were the Engineering & Construction and IT sectors, with the weakest demand coming from the Healthcare and Hospitality sectors.

Recruiters set to benefit from Government efficiency plans

Recruiters are likely to find opportunities to quote for public sector business in the near future, in a bid for increased efficiency and reduced costs in Government.

Recruiters will benefit as they can offer highly-specialised staff that have tailored skill sets and are not necessarily after the rigid restraints of a permanent job.
