Showing our commitment to helping entrepreneurs create wealth & employment in the north of England, we launched a subsidised facility at Christmas to run for the first quarter of 2008.

In view of the continuing uncertainty in the credit markets, we have decided to extend both the duration and scope of this facility.

For new clients joining SBF in 2008, with annual turnover of less than £5m, we shall provide working capital finance at base rate plus 1% for the first six months and cap the charge at no more than 2½% over base thereafter.

The initial fund of £25m of subsidised money has also been increased to £35m.
